Alternative Arthritis Treatment

Tai Chi has many amazing health benefits and can be used to help alleviate the symptoms of such health conditions as Osteoporosis, Diabetes, High Blood Pressure and more. There have even been reports of success with things like Cancer and Multiple Sclerosis although western science is just beginning to back up these reports with hard evidence.

Tai chi’s effects on arthritis are much better documented, and the art is beginning to become accepted as an effective treatment for many arthritis patients. When practiced for health it is done vary slowly and there is no impact too the joints like there is in many other activities like running or walking. This allows arthritis patients to exercise their joints through a wide range of motion without causing more damage or pain to the effected area.

The movements will provide some benefits for arthritis patients but they are not enough to get the benefits that Tai Chi is known for with out a deeper understanding beyond the choreography. It is important for anyone who is considering this art as an alternative treatment for their arthritis to put in some extra time and research into finding someone who is a truly qualified teacher in the internal arts and Chi Kung. Unfortunately most of the YMCA and fitness center Tai Chi teacher’s in the US know very little beyond the basic choreography (even those with arthritis certifications) and will not be able to provide effective results for arthritis sufferers.

If you do not begin to see some results within a month of practice I highly recommend you find another teacher. Tai Chi has many amazing health benefits but in order to obtain any of them you need a much deeper understanding of the art than just knowing a few moves.

Osteoporosis is on the increase in the world, but particularly in the western world. With increased knowledge about health care and better diets than in past decades, how is this possible?

It really comes down to diet. There is a saying that you are what you eat. Women are traditionally the primary food providers in a family. With women now going to work, often full time, convenience food is becoming more common.
Most people are aware convenience food aren’t healthy, but they are, well, convenient.
But there is absolutely no need to fall for the fast food, the supermarket packets, the frozen food, the tinned food, to bring together a meal quickly. These are all ‘dead’ foods, most having been processed so much there are few nutrients left.

You can create a quick meal which is also nutritious. It’s just knowing what you need. And how to do it.

Most people don’t eat nearly enough fresh fruit and vegetables. This should be the key to every healthy diet, not just when you’re trying to prevent or reverse osteoporosis. Make fresh fruit and vegetables at least 50% of your diet.

Try to eat as much of it raw as possible. Cooking destroys enzymes and enzymes are essential to good health.

Buy appetizing and exciting produce. Don’t just purchase the normal, if it doesn’t excite you. Make eating a pleasure. Don’t stint on this side of your grocery bill.

If you are on a budget, you will be far healthier to spend the bulk of it on fresh fruit and vegetables than on meat, dairy or convenience foods.
Green leafy vegetables, such as spinach, kale, bok choi, broccoli, etc are very high in digestible calcium, in natural balance. These can be quite a dull vegetable to eat, especially raw. But if you have a powerful blender, you can include them in delicious smoothies.
For example, blend bananas, raspberries and baby spinach. Vary the ingredients and quantities to suit your palate, but make sure there is plenty of spinach. This is one of the best and most delicious answers to preventing and reversing osteoporosis.

How’s that for a quick, easy and above all, nutritious breakfast? I challenge you to try that one on your kids, too.

This alone will do you far more good than any isolated or synthetic mineral supplement on the market. You evolved to gain your nutrients from food. Isolated and synthetic supplements are made in the laboratory. They are not in natural balance and at best are quickly eliminated (expensive poo). At worst they hang up in parts of your body where they have the potential of causing damage.

Damage such as kidney stones. Some of the supplements have even been found to cause osteoporosis.

Supplementing your diet is certainly a sound idea, in today’s stressful world. You just need to be aware that there are supplements and supplements. Blue green algae is known as a super food. This means that it has all the macro nutrients and many of the micro nutrients, all in natural balance. So it can be absorbed by your body easily.
