Ways To Get Rid Of Acne

Posted by Charlie Prost on November 23rd, 2010

There are many different myths about what works and what doesn’t when dealing with acne. Some people try all kinds of mystic home remedies like toothpaste and honey and stuff but I am convinced that you can get rid of acne easily just by changing some bad habits.

But in order for you to understand these 6 easy ways to get rid of acne you will first have to understand what causes acne

Acne appears on your skin when one of the pores in your skin get inflamed by a bacteria called P.acne. The reason the pore gets inflamed is because it has been clogged by dirt, dead skin cells or most often by an oil called sebum which is produced inside your pores. And then when a pore gets clogged the bacteria P.acne gets attracted to that pore and then multiplies inside the pore and inflames it. So basically you must either kill the bacteria or stop your pores from getting clogged if you want to get rid of your acne. And this is easily done by cleaning them up from dirt and dead skin cells… and by lowering the oil production in your pores.

Now that you know what causes acne it will be a lot easier to understand these 6 easy ways to get rid of acne.

So let’s get into what you can do to get rid of that acne.

  • Work out. This is something you must insert to your daily routine immediately. And not just because it’s great for your health and energy, but also because it’s an easy way to get rid of acne quickly. You see when you work out you will relieve stress which lowers your sebum production… and also you will sweat. The reason sweating is so good is because when you work out the sweat will take with it both dirt and dead skin cells from your pores to the surface. So basically sweating cleans up your pores.
  • Take a shower immediately after working out! This is a very easy way to get rid of acne. All you have to do is remember to shower after you sweat. Because if you don’t… all the dirt, dead skin cells and even salt will stay on your skin after the sweat evaporates and then in turn clogg the pores you’ve recently cleared.
  • The third thing you must implement to your day is washing your face and hands twice a day… no more, no less. The reason why this is so important is in my opinion pretty clear. It will clean up your skin and stop your pores from getting clogged by both dirt and dead skin cells. But beware don’t wash your face more than twice/day or your skin will dry. And when your skin dries it will crank up the sebum production in your pores and poof!…you have acne. So stick with once in the morning and once before you go to bed.
  • The fourth way to get rid of acne is mostly meant for women so ladies listen up. If you use makeup be sure that using it doesn’t make your skin look even worse than what it did before. There’s one thing that a lot of girls do which is a big factor in their skins condition. And that’s sleeping with the makeup on. This is something that will truly damage your skin and give you more acne just overnight. It’s like when I was in the army and had to use “camo” on my face all the time, I got a lot of acne since the makeup doesn’t breather at all.
  • This next thing which isn’t actually that easy for most people but can still be done is quit both smoking and drinking. These are both two factors that will quickly cause a lot of acne and in my opinion are not worth it. At least try to lower the consumption of these two if quitting them completely seems too hard. But these are two very easy ways to get more acne if you consume them a lot.
  • The last habit you want to have is not touching your face or pimples. Just stop. It’s that easy. Every time you think about touching your face just take control and don’t. Because it will very quickly give you more acne if you touch your pimples, squeeze them or play with them. So just leave your face alone and your face will thank you by staying clear and beautiful.

So there you have it… My 6 easy ways to get rid of acne. I hope that you are ready to take action and start implementing these 6 easy ways to your life starting tomorrow morning. Because when I added these habits to my lifestyle I saw results that I couldn’t believe were true. And I’m pretty sure you deserve that feeling too.

Allergy – A Path To Recovery

Posted by Charlie Prost on November 20th, 2010

Allergy is one of the most spread diseases on the Earth. It occurs in case one’s immune system shows too strong reaction to such substances, as dust, blossom, airborne fungi, herbs as well as some nutrition products and beauty preparations. Today there can be counted more than 60000 chemical substances, and every year near 500 ones new appear, due to what our immune system has to react to a lot of biochemical matters. When the organism meets a certain allergen for the first time, it strives to resist it and our labrocytes generate histamine, an inflammatory substance. This reaction to allergens leads sometimes to such wide spread symptoms as running eyes and rhinitis and makes us sneeze.

The web site cheap-zyrtec.com represents a well-known medical preparation – Zyrtec. Cheap-zyrtec.com was worked out specially for those people who are searching for a valuable solution which would help to get rid of such types of allergy as:

  • Seasonal allergic rhinitis
  • Perennial allergic rhinitis
  • Chronic Urticaria

Seasonal allergic rhinitis is characterized by inflammation of the nasal passages, usually related to watery nasal discharges and itching of the nose and eyes. It can be expressed by 2 types: seasonal allergic rhinitis also called hay fever and perennial allergic rhinitis, that can be also called chronic.

Perennial allergic rhinitis is caused by an allergy reaction of the organism to airborne chemicals from the following:

  • Animal dander
  • Cockroaches
  • Household and dust mites
  • Molds growing on house plants, carpeting.

Zyrtec medication is also used to treat chronic urticaria. It is a condition characterized by itchy rash that persists for a long period of time. As a rule, in chronic urticaria itchy rash lasts more than six weeks. Approximately 1 of 1000 people may develop chronic urticaria during their life.

Chronic urticaria is diagnosed by a row of symptoms, such as:

  • Skin rash and itching
  • Angio-oedema
  • Vasculitic urticaria may happen in some cases. Patients usually experience painful and dark red weals. Pigmented marks on the skin remain after the weal fades

It is important to take into consideration that the symptoms and severity of the rash and itch may vary from person to person. The symptoms may bear a worse character due to everyday stresses, anxiety, heat/colds and other factors. If not treated allergy can lead to depression, sleeping disorders and other problems in daily lifestyle.

Supplements and Remedies for Hypertension

Posted by Charlie Prost on November 19th, 2010

Introduction
Globally more than 1.5 billion people have Hypertension or High Blood pressure. It is a chronic medical condition and often called a silent killer since it can cause a lot of damage to the affected before the disorder is identified. Usually when the heart beats, it creates force which gets transferred to the blood. The blood takes the force to the arteries and creates pressure within the arteries which is known as blood pressure.

Systolic pressure and diastolic pressure
During each heartbeat the blood pressure varies between a maximum or Systolic and a minimum or Diastolic pressure. Systolic pressure is the part of the normal cardiac cycle when the heart contracts and blood flows out of the heart while Diastolic pressure is that part of the cycle when the heart relaxes and fills with blood. Blood pressure readings measured via the “sphygmomanometer” correspond to the Systolic pressure and diastolic pressure readings. The abnormal elevation in either or both of these measurements will lead to hypertension. Below 120/80 is the normal value of systolic and diastolic pressures, 139/89 value represents pre hypertension and 140/90 or above value is considered as High Blood pressure.

Types and Causes of Hypertension
There are two types of Hypertension, Primary or essential and secondary.

  • Almost 90-95% of those diagnosed with Hypertension are affected by Primary or essential Hypertension. There are various causes for this condition.

  • Individuals who consume excess salt in their diet – specifically more than 5.8 grams a day, are more prone to high BP
  • Obesity
  • lack of physical activity
  • Aging
  • Genetic propensity
  • Excessive alcohol indulgence for those sensitive to alcohol

Secondary Hypertension is less common and affects only about 5% of the patients. This hypertension develops due to a disorder of any specific organ or blood vessel, hence called Secondary Hypertension. Secondary hypertension can be caused by endocrine diseases, kidney diseases, specific medication, tumors and sometimes occurs during pregnancy.

Long term and Short term effects of Hypertension
Heart Attack and Heart FailureWhen there is excessive pressure, the heart begins to function harder, which increases risk of heart attack. The heart muscles are thickened by the additional pressure leading to heart failure.
StrokeAny interruption in the flow of blood in the brain will cause stroke. The important parts in the brain get damaged due the disturbance in the blood flow. Stroke also occurs when there is any blockage in the blood vessels. Hypertensive patients are at high risk of stroke and brain hemorrhage.
Kidney diseaseThe primary function of the sensitive filters in the kidney is to regulate the fluid in the body; Hypertension and irregular blood flow can damage sensitive kidney filters. High Blood Pressure patients are at high risk of developing kidney problems.
EyesHypertension can damage the tiny vessels in the eyes resulting in loss of vision.
Hypertension or high blood pressure may lead to bone mass density loss, sexual dysfunction as well as epistaxis (nose bleed) or uterine bleeding.

Lifestyle changes which help in management of Hypertension
Diet – Add Fish, lean meat, chicken, fruits, nuts, vegetables, legumes and whole grains in diet. Avoid unsaturated fats in your diet.
Reduce Weight – Reduce the excess weight, since excess of visceral and abdominal fat may worsen Hypertension and can also lead to other diseases like diabetes
Salt Intake – Maintain a low salt diet. Use low sodium salt and restrict your daily salt intake to less than 5.8 grams
Exercise Regularly – Exercise will help maintain proper circulation, burn calories and strengthen the heart

Home Remedies for managing Hypertension

  • Vitamin C helps in reducing hypertension. A teaspoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice mixed with honey and water is a very beneficial for those suffering from hypertension
  • Amla or Indian Goose Berry is very beneficial for High BP. One tablespoon full of fresh Amla juice mixed with honey and taken every morning is beneficial in managing high BP
  • Fenugreek seeds can be taken with water in morning and evening on an empty stomach

Fresh papayas, eaten on an empty stomach can be beneficial. Papayas are rich in Carpain – a cardio supportive enzyme

When most people think of boot camp the first thing that often comes to mind is the basic training that those entering any branch of the military must go through

But that is not the only type of boot camp. Fitness boot camps are becoming more popular all of the time. These exercise camps offer challenging and efficient workouts that lead to success. Many are offered at a low price.

A fitness camp of this nature is a kind of outdoor group exercise class that combines body weight exercises and traditional callisthenic exercises with strength training as well as interval training. There are different types of these camps and many are similar to the military style in that they push those who participant to work as hard as they possibly can.

While a fitness camp of this type is very disciplined it may be right for some individuals but not for others. That is for every person to decide for themselves once they have enough information at their disposal.

Many of these camps are offered in the summer months and may last anywhere from four to eight weeks. Participants wake up early in the morning to do such things as push-ups, a variety of interval training and plyometric exercises, as well as running sprints. Often those attending these camps will not be permitted much rest time between the exercises they are doing.

These exercises classes offer to those who participant speedy results. They also offer a motivating and supportive environment for those who are of the same mind. Some people enroll in these camps to lose weight while others do it to get on track with their fitness goals or to tone their bodies. Whatever your goal(s), an exercise boot camp can be a challenging albeit a rewarding and beneficial means of getting into shape and/or getting into tip top shape.

A fitness camp that is worth your time and money is one that is run by the best in the business. In other words it is run by instructors that are qualified, experienced and very knowledgeable. The most common of these camps are weight loss camps and fitness boot camps for brides-to-be. These instructors offer encouragement and support as opposed to acting like drill sergeants who use intimidation with their participants.

When looking for a fitness camp that is well suited to you choose one that has a small number of participants. For example, a camp that has six to 10 people is better than one that has a higher number of participants because the opportunity for more attention from the instructors is there. Look for one that takes place in an outdoor space that is open and public (such as a park).

Your orientation will consist of filling out appropriate paperwork, learning about the rules of the class and reviewing the guidelines as they pertain to safety. If you have not had a basic fitness assessment then you will have it at your orientation.

Every class at the camp will begin with warm up exercises which should last in the area of 10 minutes. Each workout will last 30 to 40 minutes and will be composed of an assortment of different exercises.

Cool downs and stretching will end all of your sessions. There will be a fitness retest when the camp draws to a close to determine how much you have improved since the start of the camp.

The Truth About Oral Cancer

Posted by Charlie Prost on November 19th, 2010

Oral cancer is one of the least discussed but most common cancers in the United States today. More than 36,000 people a year, in the US alone, are diagnosed. Of these 36,000 people, over eight thousand of them will die annually from this largely overlooked disease; that’s approximately one person every hour, twenty-four hours a day. These statistics do not take into account cancer of the larynx, which has the exact same risk factors. When larynx cancer is added to the mix the numbers increases from 36,000 people a year to 50,000. Of these 50,000 people, 13,500 will die of the disease. Oral cancers kills more people than the more well-known cancers such as cervical cancer, skin cancer and testicular cancer, just to name a few.

Heavy tobacco use is a primary cause of mouth and pharyngeal cancers, especially in those people who use chewing tobacco. Chewing tobacco is particularly odious because the tobacco is broken down by the teeth and then spends long periods of time in contact with soft mouth and throat tissues. Heavy alcohol use in conjunction with the habitual use of tobacco can increase the chances of developing cancer, and can speed up the growth of cancerous cells. People are cautioned to minimize, if not eliminate both tobacco products and alcohol from their lives. This simple step will greatly reduce the number of oral cancer cases.

The statistics for oral cancer appear deadly with the cancer claiming roughly twenty-five percent of those who develop the disease, in reality this type of cancer is easily treatable. The reason that such a large percentage of people die from it is because they go largely undiagnosed until they are in their later stages of development. Once the cancer has taken hold and begins to spread, it becomes more difficult to control, treat and ultimately eliminate.

One way to combat the progression of oral cancers, besides avoiding tobacco and alcohol products, is to visit the dentist regularly. The American Dental Association recommends a dental check up once every six months. In addition to doing preventative care on the teeth and gums, the dentist is also looking for signs of oral cancers. Small sores and discolored places in the mouth and throat can be spotted easily during dental examine. In fact cancer screening is a routine part of visiting the dentist. The process of checking for oral cancers is brief, and assures that most issues can be caught and dealt with early, thereby reducing a patient’s risk of further complications, including death. If the dentist does discover a spot of concern, and feels a closer look is warranted, then the patient will be directed to a specialist who will be able to biopsy the suspicious area.

Learn The Secret To a Smoke-Free Life

Posted by Charlie Prost on November 18th, 2010

Are you ready to give up cigarettes? Ready to toss that last pack of cigarettes in the trash, turn your back on a life of smoking, and turn towards a healthy, happy, smoke-free life? Well that is great to hear. The world can use one less smoker; are you ready to be next in line?

If the answer to all the above questions is yes, yes, and yes then I ask that you give me just a few moments of your time and allow me to share with you valuable information how you can make quitting smoking easier than you thought possible. You see, it is possible to quit smoking; it is actually easy to quit smoking if you go about it the right way. I want to share with you the secret to easily stop smoking and how you can give up cigarettes forever.

So many smokers who try to quit go about it the completely wrong fashion. They typically make one of two mistakes: they either try to quit smoking “cold turkey” or they get help that focuses on the physical addiction to nicotine.

First of all let’s completely eliminate any thoughts you may have about quitting smoking cold turkey. People who try to quit cigarettes on their own experience a very low rate of success. If they do manage to quit it is only after several attempts (four on average) and they often suffer from relapse and light up again. So if you are serious about it, get help.

Many smokers who decide to get help often get the wrong kind of help. They fall into the trap of believing that they need to conquer the physical addiction to nicotine to stop smoking. They hear that nicotine addiction is one of the hardest addictions to break. So they turn to smoking cessation products that focus on relieving the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal. These products include the patch or smoking cessation medications.

But these methods are actually not much more successful that going cold turkey. Their success rates are not much higher than quitting cold turkey. It is because they focus on the entirely wrong addiction. And that is where the secret to give up cigarettes come in.

The addiction to smoking lies more in your MIND than in your BODY.

After years of smoking and thousands of cigarettes your brain gets tricked into believing that smoking helps to “relax” you, that it helps to make you “feel better.” Smoking becomes a crutch, a friend in need that you turn to when you need to feel relaxed. This manifests itself in the powerful cravings to smoke that derail most smoker’s attempts to quit. These cravings are the result of your mental addiction to smoking that lies in your subconscious mind, not in any kind of physical addiction to nicotine.

So in order to successfully quit cigarettes you need to eliminate these deep seated, subconscious cravings to smoke. The patch will not do it, nicotine gum will not do it, smoking cessation medications will not do it. The only smoking cessation technique that can successfully remove the subconscious desire to smoke is NLP hypnotherapy.

NLP hypnotherapy taps into your subconscious and powerfully, but gracefully, removes the cravings to smoke. All that you have to do is listen to a simple, relaxing recording that will put you into a calm state. Once you are in this completely relaxed state NLP goes to work erasing the cravings to smoke from your mind. Once the cravings are gone it is simple to give up cigarettes forever and go on to live a confident, happy life smoke-free life.

A usual concern of most smokers is does nicotine clog arteries? Nicotine is, of course, a substance found in tobacco which is very addictive. It is because of nicotine why smokers find it so hard to kick the habit. But that’s not all. Nicotine isn’t only addictive, it is toxic, too. In fact, in its pure or concentrated form, nicotine is being used as an ingredient in insecticides. Nicotine works in roughly the same manner as acetylcholine, a nerve signal transmitter. As such, intake of nicotine can cause signs and symptoms related to the autonomic nervous system, such as dizziness and nausea, and palpitation. In large doses, it can cause respiratory arrest.

Does nicotine clog arteries, too? One of the not so known effects of nicotine is that it releases fat in the bloodstream which may then stick to the arterial walls if there is damage to the interior lining of the arterial walls, and it is very likely that there is already injury inside the walls of the arteries, more so if the person is a chain smoker. Anyhow, fats sticking to the arterial walls are not a pretty sight. They can be very dangerous, too, when they, along with cholesterol and calcium, form plaque that hardens and narrows the arterial walls, eventually clogging the arterial walls. When this happens, blood flow is cut off and oxygen which is being carried by the blood cannot anymore be transmitted to the arteries. If there is not enough oxygen supplying the coronary arteries, for instance, the person may experience an intense pain on the chest which can involve the neck and the arms, too. If blood flow to the carotid arteries is impeded, the individual may complain of dizziness, numbness on the face, speech, vision and hearing problems, and difficulty comprehending. If it is the peripheral artery that’s involved, leg pain that gets worse with walking is a usual experience.

Knowing the dangers of smoking should make you stop and think of quitting the habit altogether. But since nicotine is very addictive, the resolve to stop smoking may be easier said than done. Still, it’s not impossible, really. There are only a couple of things you need to get started – your commitment and family support. Vow to stop smoking and let everybody know that you desire to stop smoking. You’ll be surprised that it does get easier every single day. Once you have made the affirmation that you will stop smoking, make sure to empty your house with everything that reminds you of smoking. Remove your ashtrays, for one thing, as looking at them may rekindle your interest in smoking. Dispose your cigarette cases, too, your unopened cigarette boxes that you have on stock, and anything else that is the least bit related to cigarette smoking. Then start living a healthier life. Stopping smoking immediately and making wise choices when it comes to food and activity may add years to your life.

Challenges In Raising A Bipolar Child

Posted by Charlie Prost on November 18th, 2010

It is hard enough for parents to raise a normal kid in these times. But, parents who have kids with bipolar disorder have it especially tough.

Most bipolar diagnosis occur with adults. That is because, until relatively recently, it was thought that children could not have the disorder.

Further studies, however, proved that assumption to be incorrect. And, as a result of this incorrect assumption, many children have mistakenly been diagnosed as having ADHD when what they really have is early onset bipolar disorder.

The unpredictable mood swings that accompany this disorder can stress parents to the point where they don’t know who to turn to. One moment, the child can be smiling and laughing, and in a generally playful mood. Then, within only a few seconds, he could be screaming at the top of his lungs having a rage attack. The parents of these children have the hope that their child will eventually outgrow their behavior. But most are destined to be disappointed as the behavior not only continues unabated, but oftentimes escalates into even more extreme behavior.

Many times, strangers will attribute a child’s unruly behavior to poor parenting. And, in some cases, that is certainly true. But in the case of parents with bipolar children, parenting is not the issue. The issue is bipolar disease and what treatments are available to help the kid through it.

As far as can be ascertained, bipolar is an inherited disease. If one or both parents have it, the chances that a child will exhibit bipolar behavior is increased.

Bipolar disorder is also known as manic depressive illness or manic depressive syndrome. And, if your child has it, sometimes he will be up and sometimes he will be down. The moods will come and go without warning and each mood can last for an indeterminate time frame. When he is up, he is said to be in the mania period. When he is down, he is said to be in the depressive period. And, even though the sudden change in behavior can be very disorienting for the parents of the child, it is nothing compared to what the child himself is going through.

Every child goes through ups and down as a natural result of simply being children. If, however, you notice extreme mood swings in your child on a continuing basis, you should have him looked at and diagnosed by a specialist.

Natural Migraine Treatments

Posted by Charlie Prost on November 18th, 2010

Migraines can be caused by many different things ranging from stress to certain types of food or drink. In the UK alone there are thought to be more than six million sufferers. Migraines apart from being debilitating can last up to weeks and can also cause more serious problems such as strokes!

Most people when faced with a migraine or the onset of a migraine either reach for some pain killer or some prescribed medicine from the doctors. The problem with these apart from the possible side effects is that they are only treating the symptoms and not the cause. But there are more natural treatments available.

If you’re serious about lessening or even eliminating migraines the first place to start is your diet. You need to start getting more omega 3 fatty acids. Omega 3 fatty acids can be found in oily fish such as mackerel, Flax seeds. Olive oil and many more foods. Omega 3 works as an anti inflammatory and has been proven to lessen the inflammation in nerve ending in the brain. So can be valuable in reducing the severity of migraines

Another good dietary tip is to take Vitamin b complex. Vitamin b has been shown prevent narrowing of the arteries and can also prevent blood platelet clumping which often occurs during a migraine.

Lastly I would recommend starting to take Fever few and white willow bark herbal supplements. These Herbal supplements have been trialed and shown that over a 60 day period it can reduce the frequency and intensity of migraines in sufferers. Fever few works as a serotonin inhibitor and white willow bark works in a similar way to aspirin.

There are many more herbal and natural remedies for migraines and it would be wise to start with these and then trial others as and when the need arises. The real benefits of Natural migraine treatments are that they work on the cause of the problems and so prevent the migraine occurring in the first place. Whereas conventional medicine only works to relieve the pain.

As with all Herbal supplements if you are on any form of medication or suffer from medical conditions other than migraines it is always recommended that you talk to your doctor about it before undergoing a herbal treatment. Also for maximum benefit of any herbal remedy to get the best effect it is critical to get the dosage right for you. The best way to do this is to arrange a consultation with your local Herbalist.
