There are many ways one may try to control or treat Anxiety and Panic Attacks. Some require a specialized helping hand, while others you can practice on your own in the comfort of your home or at work. Depending on how severe your condition may be after an attack it is advisable that you seek professional help to define and get to the root cause of your panic or anxiety attack. This will enable you to find out information on and get advised on what may be best to take up in light of your physical health.

Your Physical health is also a main concern when taking part in any treatment, and you should not take part in any form of treatment that could ultimately harm your physical health as you work on your mental health.

The two, your mental and physical health should be worked on at the same time as they are intertwined and linked to your general well-being, that is to say, neither one can or should be left to fail as this will bring down the other; They should be both in balance.

The following are a few types of treatment one may take up after getting first hand go ahead from a personal doctor or physician:

Self Help Treatment

Opening up to an open and willing family member or close friend who you can discuss with and talk about your feelings, fears and anxiety that you are going through. It may even be someone who you may have found to have suffered from a similar condition.

A self-help group may be easier to open to and communicate with as all of the participants will be facing similar situations, and be open and ready to relate more with your problems.

Psychotherapy This is a method is a form of cognitive behavioral therapy which may be done in groups or individually for a period of time. It enables one to understand, come to terms with and control ones anxieties.

It is a sad confirmation of a difficult life ahead – learning for the first time that you have diabetes can be very devastating. It is indeed sad news for an older person who looks forward to an easy and relaxed life upon retirement and more so devastating for the young adolescents, in case of Type I Diabetes, who look forward to healthy and energetic lives ahead. The first few months upon diagnosis can be excruciating. One only has to scan the list of do’s and don’ts in proper diabetic management to be depressed that easily. Many of the older people with diabetes are diagnosed way too late of having Type II Diabetes and already suffer from the complications of the disease. Type I Diabetes, a rarer but a more lethal form of diabetes mostly attacks children, adolescents and young adults. Sufferers of Type I Diabetes have to endure daily insulin injections for the rest of their lives unless some new and more advanced diabetes management procedure come up in the near future. Anxiety and depression for diabetes patients is not uncommon given their feeling of being thrown in a situation where they simply cannot get out. They just have no option but to accept things as they are and be optimistic but this could be difficult to do at first. A basic positive approach to effectively managing diabetes is acquiring information and knowledge about this disease.

Patients suffer more psychologically about their disease which they have no knowledge of or simply refuse to understand.

In the case of diabetes, a major part of managing this disease hinges on understanding and knowledge about diabetes not only for the patient but also for the people around him. This aspect is particularly evident and is absolutely necessary in the case of an adolescent with Type I Diabetes.

Raising children who have Type I Diabetes is painstakingly difficult for any parent to do.

It is like performing two delicate balancing acts at the same time.

One being physiologically – trying to maintain glucose levels within the normal range as possible, a little too low would result in hypoglycemia and a little too high would result in hyperglycemia and worse ketoacidosis (having too much ketones in the bloodstream ha can have adverse effects in the body).

The other is the psychological balancing act wherein parents try to imbibe positive outlooks to their child regarding diabetes management and dietary adjustments not only for the child but for the whole family as well.

Food management for a diabetic child requires incredible patience for the parent. Being too strict may curtail the growing diabetic child’s nutritional needs but then again, being too lenient would encourage the child to fall back his former eating habits which could affect glucose levels at an alarming rate. Family support and encouragement is a must during these trying times.

The patient must realize that through the help and understanding of medical professionals and family members that diabetes, while incurable can be properly managed through proper and specialized diet exercise and medication.

It is very important for them to acknowledge that all hope is not lost and they can lead normal, healthy and happy lives ahead

The main reasons for anxiety disorders occurs by a combining of social, economic factors but scientifically the main cause behind the anxiety disorder is present environment and changes in the biological reaction, psychological factor in the human anatomy, it leads to several diseases like diabetes and cardiac problems.

Overcoming Anxiety may sound simpler than doing so in real life especially if you do not know where to start or worse yet what is happening to you during these sessions. There are many methods and treatments mentioned out in the world of both printed and online digitized articles by persons both in the medical profession or other similar persons who are afflicted by the same or similar condition. The best way to finding out what will work for you is through following tips, trial and error to find out what works for you. This takes out the stress and helps you not suffer one in the process of finding out how to manage your condition.

Life style may to be to blame most of the times as we are part of a hormone, money, success driven society that puts both and keeps our minds and body in a sate of overdrive working and working hard, with reduced rest times, pushing out every bit of energy out of our bodies to accomplish illusive and ever growing goals. This over stimulation will eventually lead to what can be called a burn out phase where stress, anxiety, worry and defeat will merge and drive ones mind to question reality, create a cooping fantasy to deal with what is lacking in their reality and lead down the path of ever increasing Anxiety Attacks if not checked.

Simply by finding out the trigger and working at a solution or way to manage their current situation, a person utilizing a structured well rounded approach is able to bring under control the levels of over stimulation that was putting their brain and nervous system under overload.

The brain is a muscle like any other muscle benefits greatly form the right level of stimulation as well as the adequate level of rest to keep it in tip top condition and function well.

Diet is another factor to consider. What one ingests has a direct influence to what level the body will operate at. nurturing ones body with the right food will mean that our bodies will be in the right state of balance to function optimally. Food is not just what we eat when we are hungry, it is what nutrients we ingest to keep our bodily chemical balance in check. over stimulation through the use of caffeine containing food and beverage products may mean we will be robbing our bodies and mind the opportunity to rest when they are supposed to do so. Junk food will provide a filling effect but may rob us of nutrients that would be needed for correct motor response.

A simple increase in healthier foods on ones menu, structured sleep and rest periods spaced out well during the day, will go a long way in helping you get in control a situation that may have otherwise come about as a result of a vicious and uncontrolled cycle of junk food, work, and more work with little or no rest.

People who blush are simply expressing a natural reaction. Their bodies are revealing their true feelings about a certain situation. Those who exhibit this reaction on a regular basis may become self-conscious about it. There is no way to hide a red face and some people will react by making fun of the person or laughing. To stop blushing, a person can make changes to his or her own behavior.

Individuals may get embarrassed not only by the situation that caused them to blush but also by the facial flushing itself. This can increase the undesired reaction, making the situation even worse. People who get tense when they sense blushing will occur actually cause more blood to rush to the face. They should relax their bodies rather than tensing them. Relaxing the frame and extending the stomach redirects blood elsewhere and reduces the tendency for facial flushing.

Some people blush when they are in emotional situations, so they should practice avoidance. People who blush when they become angry or upset should limit their exposure to such reaction-inducing situations. If they cannot help but have these encounters, they should try relaxation breathing or counting to ten prior to reacting.

Blushers often attempt to hide their condition from others, creating a social issue. Instead of hiding, they should accept the situation and publicize it when necessary. Acceptance reduces the tendency to get nervous and tense and announcing it lets others know what to expect. The tendency to blush is natural and should not cause a person to be ashamed. By becoming more comfortable with the condition, the individual will reduce the frequency with which it occurs.

Increasing self-confidence is another way to reduce the tendency to blush. An individual often blushes due to concern about what others think or feel. The blusher believes that another person sees him or her as weak or silly. All of us exhibit embarrassment sometimes and it is equally uncomfortable for each of us. With this in mind, people who are worth knowing will sympathize, not be mean or make fun. Someone who does not react in this way is not important to have in one’s life.

Blushers should relax, avoid situations that contribute to their condition, embrace and accept their reaction, and improve their self-confidence. This will help them stop blushing when they are in embarrassing or emotional situations. Once they control their likelihood to blush, they will be eager to accept invitations to social gatherings.

One of the biggest problems that I found with anxiety and panic attacks is that my world started to shrink. I became totally absorbed in by anxiety and found it very difficult to socialize. It was almost as if I could think of nothing but my anxiety. I would spend my spare time obsessing about my anxiety, asking myself how I felt, did I feel anxious, was I okay?

A big step for me on the road to recovery was a conscious decision to engage with life again, to take an interest in different things in order to start overcoming my anxiety. It is a form of distraction, the aim being to keep yourself too busy to allow the anxious thoughts to start circling in your head and it worked wonders for me.

I am not suggesting that you fill every waking hour with a pastime or hobby. That smacks of obsessive behavior and I think would be a dangerous route to go down, but there is no harm in filling an hour or two a day with a new hobby or interest, something that interests you and maintains your attention.

You will gradually find that you have spent quality time when you haven’t checked in with your anxious thoughts; they have simply moved to the back of your mind and allowed you to get on with life. So what you need to do is find a hobby or interest that you can engage in regularly and that takes up your complete attention.

I found three new things that helped. I started researching tropical fish and plants on the internet, ended up buying my first aquarium and am now totally hooked on the hobby. The kids love it to and help with the maintenance so not only do I get some relaxation time but the kids also get to spend time with me when I’m not feeling anxious.

I took up the guitar. We had bought our daughter a guitar a year or so back but couldn’t stretch to lessons so now she and I play the guitar for half an hour an evening, both working our way through on-line lessons.

And then for real quality me time when the wife and kids are out, I took up model making. Something I loved doing as a kid but now I could take it to a whole new level. Just got the engine and controls to fit now and we’re ready to fly.

Just think about it for a moment. Imagine how powerful a few hours of anxiety free time could be and how relaxed you would feel if you manage to get them. Don’t be too ambitious to start off with. Find something that you enjoy and make time for it.

Distraction is a great way of breaking the cycle of anxious thoughts and de-sensitizing your mind and the great thing is that you get to do something that you really enjoy.

Hormones like adrenalin and cortisol, give us superhuman strength, a great big boost of energy and they temporarily switch off our other bodily functions like digestion, fighting disease and looking for a mate.

In the early days of human evolution, the stress response was vital in keeping us alive. Unfortunately, many of the modern situations that trigger the stress response are not life threatening at all and many of us tend to live our lives in this ‘Survival Mode.’ That’s just not healthy!

Your Career

Your Responsibilities

Family Situations

The Economy

The Threat of Terrorism

Even the nightly news

can contribute to modern stress and anxiety.

Getting adequate rest, proper nutrition and practicing relaxation techniques each and every day will greatly reduce your current stress and relieve your anxiety. However, there are also two very effective herbal remedies for stress relief that work very well.

One very effective natural stress reliever is the herb Holy Basil.

Holy Basil is an ancient Ayurvedic adaptogen or anti-stress compound. Countless studies have shown that Holy Basil can significantly reduce feelings of stress and anxiety when taken regularly. Holy Basil has even been found to improve memory, reduce cholesterol, relieve headaches and Holy Basil also has a very positive effect on the adrenal and central nervous system.

A second very effective natural stress reliever is a product called Serenity 2.0.

Serenity 2.0 is an ancient Chinese herbal formula that calms and relaxes the body -without making you feel groggy or dopey. This centuries old herbal formula effectively reduces the body’s stress and anxiety response, encourages relaxation and gives one a sense of inner calm and peace.

Serenity 2.0 can be taken several times a day…

First thing in the morning

Before heading off into morning traffic

Before a stressful meeting or presentation

Right before bedtime

And even at night when you wake and have trouble falling back to sleep

If you are feeling nervous, anxious, tense, easily distracted, and fidgety -you may be suffering the effects of undue stress and anxiety. Chronic stress and anxiety have been linked to high blood pressure, headaches, migraines, low immunity and a shortened life-span.

Don’t take chances with your health.

Eat well.

Learn to relax.

Meditate.

Get plenty of rest and exercise and

Consider using natural herbal remedies to reduce your stress levels, improve your health and improve your life.

Every one of us is affected by anxiety at one stage or another in our lifetime. Even though it is quite prevalent we need to know the difference between the usual anxiety and the chronic anxiety that usually leads the sufferer to anxiety panic attacks. Some common anxiety attack symptoms are discussed in this article.

Many symptoms are physical and they’re caused when we are on the verge of fighting or trying to get away from a danger or a threat. Even though we have evolved from the caveman, this instinct still tends to occur and overcome us – a lot unseemly at times.

When we are trying to run away from danger or preparing to fight our heartbeat rises and circulates more blood to lungs, kidneys, liver and other important organs that require blood the most. The lungs are also working harder to assist the heart and to provide us more oxygen to run and the muscles brace themselves for action. This leads to palpitations, tightening of the chest, sharp pains and shortness of breath that are commonly associated with anxiety attacks. Adrenaline is released in larger quantities in your body which is the reason for muscle twitchiness, cold and hot feelings and stomach related abnormalities like butterflies, weak legs, constipation and vomiting. The mind and other senses also become sharper and alert.

As a matter of fact, such bodily behavior is just to deal with the fight-or-flight needed at that moment. However, such anxiety attack symptoms even occur at times when there is nothing to fight or flee. All our instincts of not only outside our body but within it as well grow out of normal proportions. It is understandable when such perceptions occur when we are in the middle of a fight etc, but if this happens under normal circumstances – then what?

In this case, the mind is responsible for wrongly perceiving a threat and preparing the body accordingly. A threat is not there, though. The oxygen supply and adrenaline flow keeps on growing but there is no outlet to decrease it. Subsequently, to neutralize the increased adrenaline, it causes the victim to suffer hopelessness and some times it causes them to feel that something bad is going to happen to them or their family members. Most of the times, the patient sufferers from increased fear and terror just because they’re afraid of having another panic attack, that is why panic attacks should be treated first and the most effective way is to look at the root cause.

Anxiety attack symptoms usually last from 10 minutes to an hour. The easiest way to tell if a person may be suffering from a panic disorder is to see if the panic attacks occur for more than a week in a row.
